We have just updated some of the JavaScript libraries to more recent builds. More specifically jQuery was updated from 1.3.x to 1.4.2 and jQuery UI from 1.7.x to 1.8.4. Also some other components, such as Fancybox, were updated.

If you encounter any JavaScript-related problems with the site, please report them here. Problems can appear as errors or incorrect/changed behavior.

Oh, well that's good. =) I was not aware of the problem in the report function. Any other old JS-related problems that need fixing?

Haven't come across any actually.. but I do block a lot of the links at the bottom of the page as they cause major scrolling headaches for me... same as a lot of sites tho.. more likely the rather naff 64bit java engine.

Minicode, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP. yours is configured for 7 lines of text even tho only have 4 lines of text. so much for following forum rules.
    1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text.

Could you please email me details about your browser, operating system, location and other information you might find relevant to <mynick>@afterdawn.com . I haven't seen that kind of a problem myself on any of the browsers I have installed - either directly or via our US proxy.

Thank you for the details! Sounds very much like a problem with some country / location targetted advertisements.

I'm sorry about the inconvenience, and glad to hear it resolved itself.

Thank you. Does the error message appear everywhere on the site, or just in the discussion forums?

I generally see it when linking back to an updated thread.
Next time I shall make a note.

Thanks for the update. Is it always the same JS (skimwords) that is unresponsive?
