join mpg files

Hope this is the right forum - apologies if it is not.

I have recently bought a Sony Handycam with 30GB hard drive. I would like recommendations for software that can join the multitude of mpg files into one file and then burn them to a VCD.

VCD GEAR is great and windows movie maker can join your files
