I'm a putz. I used Wiagra Free Video Joiner to join my entire AVI library. I first tested by joining various WMVs, and the playback was fine. So, proceeded to join all my split AVIs. To my dismay, they all play back with no audio. Gspot indicates audio codecs when I scan the file, however, there is no audio. Is there anything I can do to fix these joined files? I've already deleted the split files. :(

Every AVI that is having audio probs crashes the AVI Mux when I click on 'generate data source from files'. The AVIs that do not have audio issues show me the audio tracks. I downloaded the latest version of AVI Mux. Thanks in advance for any other tips.

Load/drag a 'good' file into VirtualDub and make sure it plays back ok.
Load a bad file in and see what it does.
The only reason I suggest it, is because VirtualDub is forgiving of errors in AVI files.

    VirtualDub, look for 'stable' download.

OK, opened the file in Virtual Dub. It opens without any errors. However, playback produces no audio. Under the audio menu, there are bullets next to 'source audio' and 'direct stream copy'. What does that mean?

Those are for processing the audio stream of the AVI - but there has to be an actual stream to work with..
I have run into this same problem, but I could fall back on the originals.
    Still looking.
