I'm looking for a good FREE program to join multiple AVI videos into one large AVI video. Any suggestions ?
Try Virtualdub. http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/14/59/ and for a sampling error: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/309635
I tried useing virtual dub but i keep getting an error message when i try to open my videos. the error message says "couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DIVX' (unkown)". anybody know a fix ?
Install DivX or another VfW decoder that can handle the 4CC (such as ffdshow or Xvid). An alternative would be VDubMod which will simply lock video to direct streaming if there is no decoder. Could also use something that isn't VDub based like AVI-Mux GUI or avidemux.
Use windows movie maker to join the avi files into wmv file. then convert it using super from erightsoft. if you think it is trivial to do, refer to this guide
