Hi, I downloaded a sub file which consisted of two srt files. I joined them using SubTitle workshop but when the second file starts the timings start at 00.00,000 and the subs on screen stop. The first file is OK. What have I to do to make the second file continue with the first? TKS.

When you joined them did you check the two boxes labeled 'Load file after join' and 'Recalculate time values' - so that the second .srt file times are now a continuation of the first?
Load the new combined .srt file.
Load the movie and check the sync in the second half.
If the sync is out, pause the movie just as it starts the second half dialog.
Highlight all the subs for the second half, then click on the double horizontal arrow.
This syncs the first highlighted sub to that time and adjusts the subsequent lines.

Tks for your reply. After I followed your advice and the second half were synched OK (checked by the time of the movie) but were not displayed. The first half is OK and even the second before the intervention.
    What have I blundered?

I don't know why it's getting mucked up.
Here's the note I made myself when I first did it.

    Run Subtitle Workshop.
    Tools > Join Subtitles
Check the two boxes labeled 'Load file after join' and 'Recalculate time values'.
[it will load the new combined file and reset the values on the second part of the subs]
Click on 'Add' - to load the subtitle files - and click 'Join' and give the joined file a name.
The new combined files will load.
Then load the movie and sync with subs.
