Still uncertain on how to transfer my scanned phots from jpeg format to mpeg. What software would be best utilized? Any hints and or helps appreciated.

You need similar software for DV movie authoring to DVD. I use Pinnacle Studio 8 which allows me to make photo slideshows from Jpeg files with transitions, titles, music,etc. However, especially if you don't want movie editing it might be cheaper to get the Nero VisionExpress plugin for Nero which will enable you to compose and burn a photo Jpeg image slideshow directly to SVCD or DVD. Of course if you don't want to splash out at all you can make a simple photo slideshow using ordinary Nero and the option for VCD. Just drag and drop the files then click on each to choose the time on screen you want for each image. You can also creat a menu for the slidshow to. Nero will convert the jpeg image to MPEG 1 during the burning process.
