I have 10 VHS tapes I need to pull 45 and 60 second commercials off and put on DVD. Here is my setup:
1900 Athlon w/ 512 RAM and 100GB HD (capture only drive) running XP using an ATI All in Wonder 8500DV card. I capture using S-video cable and RCA for Audio. The capture itself is jumpy - menaing - looking like the steady shot is turned off. This is straight from VHS tape to computer - I capture at DVD quality and the Master VHS tape is not jumpy.

Is this lost frames or what? It actually wiggles up and down? I have a project already due and they come back with this NOW!?! jeez - what a rush job this one is. Any help to why these captures "wiggle" or are "jumpy" would be of great help. If you need more info about anything - please ask!! I will be watching this post until I figure out what I can do.

I don't have an answer specifically on this but after looking around it appears a big cause of this can be capturing at a different frame rate than the original. Maybe that will help point in the right direction. Good luck.
