    PLEASE READ COMPLETELY BEFORE ATTEMPTING!!!!

The method for LiteOn drives has changed. Please see this tutorial: Dump FULL LiteOn firmware

Some people have said that the Jungle Flasher tutorial seemed a bit confusing so I am making this tutorial to make it a bit easier to understand!

This image tutorial was created to show you how to dump and flash a STOCK Lite-ON with Jungle Flasher.

    Things you will need:

    Jungle Flasher v0.1.66
    iXtreme 1.6 for Lite-ON (REPACK)
    Compatible SATA chipset
    SATA cable
PortIO installed (requires 32bit Operating System)
    .Net Framework 2.0 or higher
    CK3 Lite/PRO with PROBE
    USB drivers (possibility)

Note: Maximus Xtractor PRO with Spear will work also. If you have made your own Probe, you will not need a connectivity kit.

Make sure to have iXtreme 1.6 for Lite-ON (REPACK) in the firmware folder that is within the Jungle Flasher folder so you can utilize the autospoof feature! The Lite-ON ix1.6 repack will need to be renamed to ix16-liteon.bin

    CK3 INFO:
In this tutorial I am using the CK3 Lite with Probe. The CK3 Lite has a serial (DB-9) connection, so no driver is required. If your computer does not have a serial connection, you will need the CK3 PRO version which has USB. Drivers are required and they are Operating System specific. You can find the USB drivers HERE.

It is IMPORTANT to remember to plug the probe in the proper way. Failing to do so, can burn up your drive and render it useless. The end that has the probe attached to the wires MUST go into the drive. The other end that doesn't have the probe connected to it, must go into the connectivity kit. Make sure you plug the ends in the right direction too. Plugging the ends upside down will burn up your connectivity kit or drive!

If your onboard SATA is compatible, you can skip the steps for removing the VIA driver.

In this tutorial I am using a VIA SATA card with the 6421 chipset.

I have removed the VIA driver from C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers folder to prevent a system freeze when trying to erase the Lite-ON.

    To remove the VIA driver:

    1. Disable VIA card in Device Manager.
    2. Go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers and remove "viamraid.sys" or "vsmraid.sys".
    3. Re-Enable VIA card in Device Manager.
    4. Re-Boot PC.

    ----------WARNING--------
When extracting the key of a Lite-ON, there is a chance that the key can be corrupted, but it still may look valid. The only way to truly know that it works is to spoof the information you extracted, to another drive and test it out. If it plays a game, the key is good. I know people that have extracted countless Lite-ON keys and never spoofs the info, but have never had a bad key. Spoofing to another drive is optional, but highly suggested!!

First you will want to check a couple of things.

Make sure the VIA driver is not installed by checking in Device Manager. Notice the yellow exclamation mark.

You also need to have PortIO and .Net 2.0 or higher installed. PortIO is included with Jungle Flasher and .Net can be obtained from Microsoft.

Go ahead and power on your Lite-ON drive with your connectivity kit or the XBOX 360.
Start up Jungle Flasher and go to the DVDkey 32 tab. You might have to change the I/O Port to find your Lite-ON.
Once you find it, you should see the properties listed under Drive properties.
Uncheck the box that says "Dummy.bin Only"

Once you have identified your Lite-ON, you will want to do the following:
    Eject tray
    Power off the drive
Push the tray in half way
    Power on the drive

Go ahead and insert the probe into the R707 hole and click "Get Key, Creat Dummy.bin, Open as Source" button
    [IMG]

Jungle Flasher will dump the key 6 times, along with your Identify.bin and Inquiry.bin.
Jungle Flasher will ask you to save your Key.bin, Inquiry.bin, Identify.bin, and Dummy.bin.
Jungle Flasher will then create a dummy.bin.

Jungle Flasher will ask you to autoload iXtreme firmware. Click YES.
Note: In the picture it says tony.bin. I simply renamed the dummy.bin to tony.bin.

This is the result of the autospoof.
Your DVDkey should be the same from the dummy bin to ix1.6.

Go back over to the MTKFlash tab and you are going to click Lite-ON erase.
Jungle Flasher will prompt you 2 times. 1st prompt is about the DVDkey and the 2nd prompt is about returning good flash chip properties.
Pictured is the 2nd and last prompt. Click Yes.

As soon as you click YES, you will power cycle the drive. That means shut it off for 1 second and turn it back on.
You should get good flash chip properties. (pictured is Winbond/NEX, some will have MXIC)

    Go ahead and click WRITE.

Once it verifies OK, you can click Outro/ATA Reset and power off the drive.

Go ahead and test this out in your console.

yes i did when i first turned it on the light was only blue, then when i touched the r707 hole the green light lit up, then after a few trys the green light just stayed on without the r707 hole, but for some reason if i touched the inside of my computers case (metal i guess) the green light would turn off, nothing would turn off or on when i touched it ont he r707 hole :(

I believe there is a small amount of voltage running through the Probe. If it makes contact with a metal ground, I'm not sure what would happen. Make sure you have the probe connected the proper way.

I was just looking at other forums and that is what was suggested. Not for sure exactly would be the problem.

Hi, quick question. I have already flashed a few samsung drives with no problem. However I am going to be doing my first LiteOn this weekend.

Heres the thing, I borrowed a CK3 Lite from my buddy but I do not have a prong. Is it required? If not does that mean I have to solder the 2 points R707 and R708. Just a little bit confused. Thanks for the help.

I believe you would need to bridge the 2 points, R707 and R708. And then since you are using the CK3 Lite that has the serial connection, you should be able to get the key off the drive.

The VIA 6421 will work with the Lite-ON, just make sure you have the VIA driver removed.

Probing the R707 hole is how you get the key.

I don't have a video of this but there is several out there.

You need the probe to extract the key and drive specific info from the Lite-ON with the probe. Once you have done that, JF will inject that info into iXtreme 1.6. From there you will flash your drive. Either using the CK3 to power it or the XBOX 360.

This is a DB-9 Serial connection.

If you don't have one of those, USB is the other option.
