I disagree. On what basis do you make this statement that a first copy is different than a second copy? what are you looking for when you buy dvd's? I buy my dvd-r on the internet and I buy riteks.

devil60, I guess all those people who have single format burners never knew what you knew because they've been busy happily and successfully burning backups for many years - LOL Too bad you didn't learn anything about plus (+) and minus (-) media in all those years - He he, Pete
First, second, third and 147827189470981728904127th copy are all identical. We're talking about digital copying here, which is exactly -- not close, not almost, but exactly 1:1 copying. Only time at the moment when you need to do any changes between the origin of the disc to be copied and the destination disc is when your original is a pressed DVD-9 disc, as current single layer recordable DVDRs can't hold the same amount of data. But if you copy DVD+R to DVD-R, DVD-R to DVD+R, DVD-RW to DVD+R, DVD+RW to DVD-RW, DVD-R to DVD+RW and so on, the resulting copy is always 100% identical. DVD-R versus DVD+R is useless conversation, some people claim to benefit from one format over the another one, but in case your DVD player isn't the one that your granpa used in WW1, its most likely able to play all four major recordable DVD formats without a flaw. And as that's the case, economics are the only meaningful reason to select the media -- blank, GOOD quality DVD-R discs (branded Riteks, etc) cost even today significantly less than DVD+R discs (OK, few cents, etc might not sound "significant", but think it is percentages and it makes a diff -- some of us actually do burn hundreds of discs a month).
