It works great. Transfered all my old VHS tapes/movies to DVD. Its a pioneer. Its a stand alone the kind thats sits by your TV. Do you think it has a macrovision filter of somekind?

Legally they are Not allwed to Have any Way to Disable the Macrovision...a Few Chinese Companies released DVD Players without Macrovision and CSS Detection and these Companies had to pay out Millions of Dollars in Fines.....

cyberlink has a program called powerproducer-3 that also allow you to copy vhs tapes to dvd without having to worry about marcrovision copy protection.no matter which program you use to transfer vhs to dvd you must have some means of neutralizing the copy protection.most if not all vhs tapes does have copyright protection which must be broken in order to transfer from vhs to dvd.

That is Not Possible because Macrovision Is an Analogue Copy protection and your PC can not read an Analogue signal cuz once the Video gets to the Software it is Digital..

It is the Capture device that has the Macrovision detection so if the Capture device detects that there is Macrovision in the Video Signal it then will Make the Video Un-watchable when you try to Capture from it...Some Software Can tell the Signal is Copy protected only because the Capture device tells it that the Signal Is Copy protected.....

Power Producer 3 Just doesn"t tell you if the Signal is Copy protected and Lets you Capture the Macrovision Scrambled Signal....

If the Macrovision problem could be solved Purely with Software then there wouldn"t be So many Hardware devices out there for to get rid of the Macrovision.....

Why Yes I have....If I use a Copy protected Tape I get Flashes to dark and Bright Like I do with every Copy protected Tape useing My Card .....

Have you thought that Maybe your Card doesn"t have Macrovision Detection Built in?? Like capture devices Made By ADS do not have Macrovision detection.....
Or maybe you just aren"t Noticeing the Bright to Dark Flashes??
