Hi so I just got a new 22" monitor with a DVI connection on it. My PC is like 3-4 years old and dose not have a DVI port on it. So I bought one of these things. Its a DVI to VGA adapter so I I plugged the DVI cable into the monitor and the other end into this adapter. I then plugged the adapter into the VGA port on the PC but when I switch the PC I just get a screen with no signal. Anyone got any ideas I mean its working fine on a VGA cable now but I heard DVI was better.

So if anyone can help me out please do if its any help the monitor I got was this one.

It should literally just work. If it doesn't, it's a faulty adapter, DVI port, or monitor.
