Hello all.. so glad to get a ps3 at last however...

i want to install linux, does this have to be installed on the internal hard drive.. or can it be installed on an external hard drive??

also once installed do i have the option to boot the normal ps3 system and the new os

so also again lol .. is this the right version to use of linux yellowdog-5[1].0-phoenix-20061127-PS3.iso 3.32 gig

Has to be internal, the only technical way you can have it external is if you replace the hard drive (a simple matter actually, they address the issue in your manual) and yes, that is the correct version.

Consult the guide above for the installation, but you're going to need a DVD-R, storage device, and some other things as well..
