ok now that i have nero 6 installed, and it supposedly encodes files to svcd / vcd format on its own before burning them, im thinking all i need to do here is get a good avi splitter that actually works right? so this way i can just drag half of the file into nero, have it encode and burn dosc 1 then repeat the same thing with disc 2. if this isnt this simple please let me know. but the problem is, all of the splitters i've tried so far are doing a really crappy job and its not seeming as easy as i thought it would be to split a freaking long avi file in half. theyve either made it so the sound doesnt sync or just dont work or freeze up. of course if i drag the entire avi file into nero it will encode the whole thing and then tell me i dont have enough space. i know about splitting them with tmpgenc, but this encodes it also while splitiing it, which kind of defeats the purpose of doing it with nero to begin with, and besides, tmpegencis crashing with these certain xvid files im trying to encode which is why im wanting to just give nero a shot with it. so any good avi splitters out there that will do this for me? i have a 1.33 ghz 256 megs of ram. thanks
Nero Is the Worst Quality VCD/SVCD/DVD Converter there is, the Quality of Nero"s encodes are Just awefull and I wouldn"t even use it if your Life depended on it...If you want to convert your AVI file to VCD or SVCD or DVD then you should use a Real encoder Like Maybe Tmpgenc or even Mainconcept encoder But NOT NERO...Nero is OK For Burning to Disk but not for encodeing...If you want a easy to use AVI editor then "Virtual Dub" is Probably the best Freeware one, you can find it easilly enough if you do a Google search....Cheers
