just put in pioneer dvdr 105, cant see it in my computer?

    i put the burner in place of my cd-r with the same connections in same spots, the drive has lights and opens and closes, but it does not come up in my computer or hardware. no new hardware thing came up, and no install cd came with drive, what do i do?

    When it starts up, do you see the drive listed??

    I had the same problem. I put in place of my cd burner which was on the secondary slave channel, and although it showed up first time it disappeared and would'nt show up unless I removed the IDE cable restarted and plugged it back in. The solution was simple though, I just put the 105 on the secondary master and put the cd burner back on the secondary slave and all is well, no idea why though, but the problem hasn't come back
