Ok so what I did is follow the 10 min soft mod guide at http://www.techfreaks.org/articles/modxbox.shtml and it worked just fine i could copy games and such and it was modded i loved it. So then i did the follow up guide at http://www.techfreaks.org/articles/modxbox2.shtml to install my new 160G Hitachi HDD into my new custom painted box. Now Ive followed all the instuctions perfectly like they are in the articles I hooked up the HDD and did all the stuff to make it a new Xbox HDD i put it into my box and now it boots and says "Service Required Call Customer Support" now I would greatly appreciate any help from anyone on this subject if needed I have 2month free trials to anyone that helps me to reslove this problem thanks -jake

when you built your new hdd did you add the lock/unlock hdd tools? when i softmodded my xbox and added an 80gig'er i had the same problem so i just reformatted my hdd (the 80gig) and rebuilt it and read everything very carefully and made sure i was abel to lock the hdd and after i did that it worked perfect. good luck and hope i helped some.. later add
i dont know if this is fixable through splinter cell save game hack, because i dont know much about softmodding through save game hacks, but i know that with xboxhdm u should be able to fix it no problem but then ud have to hotswap and i dont know if u want to do that or not
ok you were right the last thing you do in it is type lockhd -a and i missed it in the text that was the only thing now i cant get on live with it though and it doesnt have the dvd player or copier can anyone help with that i have ftp access to it if i need it thanks jake
Well, the way I added my new HD was by cloning my Xbox drive into the new one using XboxHDM and the clone HD option by putting the Xbox HD and the blank drive in my PC, so that absolutely everything on the Xbox HD transfered to the new one, and then I used the install F drive option on it, which basically assigns the rest of the free space on the drive to the F partition. It's really quicker than that tutorial if you do it that way.
