I just used the decrypter and it was a success. but i do have a question about shrink. if i get the DVD shrink and combine it with the DVD decrypter can i shrink the dvd and copy it to a blank dvd+r without saving the whole DVD to my hard drive. or do i have to copy the dvd to my hard drive no matter what. Me personally i dont want to have to keep all the dvds backed up on my computer so how can i get rid of the copy on the hard drive so it doesnt take up space.
If you use shrink with dvd decrypter, when decrypter begins to write the file you will see several check boxes at the top of the window. One says delete disc image when done. just tick that box and the movie image will be deleted automatically when you close dvd decrypter. Hope this helps.
If your DVD is over the 4.3gb limit you need to use Shrink to have it fit on a single layer disk. Yes it has to go to the hard drive again. After you are done with the movie and your burn is complete and works, just delete the files from the hard drive. Here are guides that will explain the process. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup with Decrypter&Shrink.pdf
It would be a good idea to keep it on your hard drive until you have checked out the quality of the back-up
