I seem to have, in a hast a couple weeks ago, thrown away my CD that installs the USB drivers for my Mini-DV camera(it's a JVC, model GR-D201U). Does anyone know of any possible sites that archive drivers for camcorders, or where I can just find the drivers for this particular camera? *I have tried the JVC main site, the camcorder is not there, it was discontinued a long time ago.
Don't they have somewhere on that site for discontinued items. They used to. Also, does the video camera have a firewire output on it? If so, you should be using that for downloading video to your computer. USB is way too slow.
I didn't not see any such section, I searched for the camera and did not find it. and yes I believe it does but, I do not have firewire on my computer, and I have no money at the moment to invest in it.
If you are running Windows XP SP2, the USB drivers should be already installed. USB is for transfering images from the SD card. I dont think you get any video downloaded with USB. Does require firewire.
The quality, when capturing through USB, is nowhere near the quality as capturing via firewire. A firewire card is not real expensive.
