I purchased a rear projection Sony KDF-50E3000 2 weesk ago from Circuit City, but shortly after doing so I decided that I wanted the KDS-50A3000 instead due LCOS (SXRD) vs. LCD. I had a difficult time finding an A3000. I really did not want to order one over the internet, but I ended up doing so from Electronics Express via Amazon. I disconnected my E3000, packaged it up and reurned it to CC. The A3000 arrived just three days after I ordered it. I hooked it up to the exact same HD DVR Cable box (Verizon FIOS) that I had the E3000 hooked up to. I agree that the picture is much better, but I am concerned about the sound. I actually have a technician scheduled to come and check it out next week. The E3000 was audible on a volume level of only 2 or 3, and seemd plenty loud at about 10. It seems that I have to turn the A3000 up to about 20 before it is loud enough. I believe that both have the exact same speakers, etc.. It just seems odd to me that the higher level model would not have the same quality sound. I also have a 40 inch Sony LCD, the V2500 model, and the sound seems better on it than the A3000. Has anybody ever compared the sound from the E3000 vs. the A3000? I realize that most would probably use another devide for the sound, but my space is limited and I figured that a TV of this quality should have good enough sound. Any info/opinions woud be greatly appreciated.

Even $ony is not immune to quality control problems.

..., so it may be a correctable problem that the service call will take care of vs. just not great sound from the A3000? i did read a review that indicated that the A3000 has "limited" sound, but not sure if that same reviewer would also think E3000 has limited sound.
