    Hi Peeps.
I have a problem on one of my pc`s The mouse and key board have stopped responding. The pc is running XP home and was on a net work with a KVM switch. It stopped responding last night after a power interruption.
Now the pc will boot but will not take any commands from the key board or mouse. In affect the pc in a coma and is locked off from the outside world!
I have taken it off the net work and plugged in a spare key board and mouse and plugged it direct to a monitor. again the pc will boot up but will not respond to key board or mouse.
I have tried everything for a three fingered salute a hard reboot, plugging in the mouse and key board after the machine has booted, plugging in one at a time and rebooting and nothing works.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem???

Boot the computer in SAFE MODE, go to System Restore. Restore to a period just before the problem started. See if keyboard and mouse start working.
How is your KVM switch attached to the PC, by USB? If so, don't hook this back up, yet. Maybe causing a driver conflict.

If the keyboard and mouse still do not work. Boot in SAFE MODE, go to DEVICE MANAGER, uninstall both keyboard and mouse drivers. Normal reboot. Get back to me afterwards.
