I am looking for a program that I can run in the backround which will do the following two things:
    A) simulate holding down 'alt' so that I don't have to tie up a finger. I want it to simulate keypress until I tell it to stop.
    B) also if it could disable the alt+tab comination while it is running (I dont want to permanently disable it for my whole system)

problem is, I don't even know what sort of category such a program would be found in, or even what to refer to such a program as. I'd be willing to run more than one program to accomplish those goals.
    please, can anyone help?

    They're called macros.

The run in a variety of manners...recording keystrokes/mouse movements, running scripts, or combinations.

Google "Free macro" or look @ the thread in the windows games topic area called "runescape thingy" or something like that, there's a discussion about them in there.
