Kmeaw CFW With Backup Manager Support

Kmeaw from our IRC EFNET CHANNEL #PS3Test has released a CFW that enables LVL2 Syscalls, or if you already have Wutangrza CFW installed, all you need to do is run the lvl2.pkg to enable the syscalls. This is a simple .pkg file that you will need to run before running Backup Manager, it will patch lvl2 and add syscalls into the memory, and when you reboot, the syscall’s are removed safely, so when you reboot, you will need to repeat the process

This doesn't seem to be working for me. I install OFW 3.55 and after that I installed Kmeaws firmware over that. I installed multiman and open manager before runnign a backup I ran the lv2 patch and ran multiman and launched my game and selected the disc from the xmb and I just got stuck on the black screen. With open manager I got the same thing.

So I went into recovery mode and restored offical firmware and then into recovery again and installed the kmeaw firmware again and still the same thing.

PS3 slim using my copy of midnight club and a copy of nba jam..

 

Try using Rogero Manager 7.8 for 3.55. Thats what works for me. Multiman doesn't work with all the games apparently. I was just playing NBA Jam off of it. I also think that if you modified any of the eboots they have to be put back to the originals.

 

I got it to work but for some reason I had to follow this, seems like others where having the same problems and I had to fix permissions. Here is a quote

When I tried gaia and open manger I never tried the permissions fix before uninstalling it and I got black screens and freeze. When I tried to uninstall open manager it says it has been corrupted so now its suck there as corrupted lol.

 

I forgot about that .pkg i ran it before i tried any BM's thinking it would be important. Good job glad u figured it out. It works for usb drives as well. That's what i'm using.

 

Yeah for some reason every time i try to run rogero mamnger or open manager all I get is a black screen and the system freezes. Gaia manager with integrated lv2 works find and so does multiman.

Hey i have one/few questions...dont know yet! the thing is that i downlaoded the kmeaw CFW with all the necessery things together and in text file (README) it said that this CFW dows nto work with next models:

Unsupported SKU's:
CECHA
CECHB
CECHC
CECHD
CHEHE
CHEHG

and on mine says CECH-2004A does it mean than i cant make anything out of it even doe they say it should be working on each ps3 console?

I believe you got the waninkoko CFW do not install. Go to ps3hax.net to search for the real kmeaw CFW.

Another question or few depends on whit what i come up during writing

so i have successfully made an installation of Kmeaw CFW and than I should install the roger manager...installed it and when i try to run it, ps3 keeps staying in black screen and it does not come up with anything else even after 5 mintues.
as a further reading on that matter, what to do if screen stays black i installed also fix permissions PKG which would allow for user to go further than black screen...
any ideas or the manager should be that way..?

google signed ps3 .pkg's and u should find everything u need. Also if u go back to that website i told u they have new backup managers that are signed with the lvl2.pkg already installed.

 

back again,

so i copied two worlds to my external hard drive (just for testing) and somehow i cant copie in rugero's manager from usb external drive to internal...no option...nothing...
i have put the game folder on external hard drive: J:/PS3/GAMEZ/TWO WORLDS/

is there any official guide for it how to do or something

I think I may actually balls up and give this a try this weekend. First I need to brush the dust off my PS3 OFW 3.40.

 

If you use the latest Rogero Manager 7.9a there's no need to run the lvl2.pkg each time as this is done when the Rogero Manager starts.
I'm using this to run gt5. works great

That depends on the system...Rogero 7.9a crashes my console if I don't run LVL2.pkg first.

Just saw on haxnetwork that Kmeaw released a new version of LVL2.pkg to fix these issues, hopefully we will see Rogero Manager include the fix soon:

Same here with the crashes issues, I didn't post a reply for the same reason because I saw the updated lv2 patcher. All common problems that I expected to see.

 

I know this is probably a dumb question but will a European regioned backup play on a NTSC ps3?

 

PS3 is Region Free.... You can play any region.
