Kryptview 09012008 Please note this is a public beta release. Lots of changes have been made - lots of features therefore may have minor issues. A followup release will take care of these as they arise. Changes: ------- - Auto Category - channels are automatically inserted into the correct category whilst scanning. This should work for future channels too. - The default audio stream is now the non-narrative stream. If you still want audio commentary for the visually impaired then you can choose it by pressing the audio button the remote control. - Channels not intended for the selected Network ID are now remapped to 2000+ instead of all becoming 3000 - Some tuner driver changes. There are two files in this release, one for the UK mainland and the other for Ireland. There are still some known issues with the firmware (that is why it is still classed as BETA). On the list to fix in the next update due in a week or two: - Subtitles - Slow keyroll Please can you post your reviews on this new release here. You will find it in Eamos FTA Library at the bottom of my post, (Kryptview Firmware Folder).
Scouser, will the file for Ireland fix the info bar issue in Ireland as its very hit and miss at present. Will it improve the EPG in anywaye?
Scouser, this is what I found. NTHELL Dublin Loaded the software on the above, I dont see any noticable change to anything apart from the headings in the category's, the only thing it did was add the movies to the Factual section. The info bar so far is still hit and miss and the info button still doesnt work, press it, it will call up the screen, but it says "No info to Display" The EPG will load for the day, thats it wont give you more than that (The Box has given more than a day) As far as I can tell, no discernable additions for Irish users. I can stand corrected on this, if I do notice anything else I will add it
No Mick same with me Guess I will just put it back under wraps until the full bug free version comes out, we are still on the Beta stage.
It seems the UK problems are being sorted out, which to be fair needs to be done, but I think the developers at this stage need to concentrate on their Irish users as the basic INFO button doesnt work and Info Bar is hit and miss at the best of times, the EPG wont look past 12,00 at night. These are basic things that need to be working and I think at this stage need to be addressed ASAP. I understand things take time, but their is another re-vamp coming out for the arnet as posted that fixes the key roll issue, which can fixed by pulling the plug out or flicking the channels anyways! I think the focus needs to be on the short comings for the Irish users. end of rant......
LOL no problem Mick I feel like a good rant now and again myself Regards the EPG is up to 00 hours, the fact is its an N** issue they used to have a three day EPG stream but this seems to have shortened to one day only.
I have gotten over 1 day on the box?? It showed me programs into the following day on certain channels, not all. The info bar and info button is the main ones, as you have to flick channels for them to load onto the info bar. The info button is as useful as a sunroof on a submarine!
LOL funny Sorry must be me but the EV only has a days EPG, although this would indicate that it is a problem since the clock change so yep still a bit of work to be done for Ireland, should be a new firmware soon
well if it fix's the info bar and button, then I would be happy. The channel reservation would tip the scales.
