Hi, ive been researching different cable boxes and finally decided to buy a kryptview arnet from a guy that lives close by. he came round and set it up and everything, it worked perfectly for 2 days and has decided to play up today. Any time I try to go on a channel it says 'No or Bad Signal'. I went back to the guy i bought it from and he game me some attenuators to attach at the back as he said the signal was too high, he gave me 3db, 8db and 12b. I tried each one seperately but the situation did not improve. However, when i try all 3 together i do get a picture it is very choppy although this only comes on the movie channels and slysports, i do not get no picture on BBC1 etc, just the message 'no or bad signal'.

Ive been told that there is a common fault with the tuners on these, could someone please confirm if this is true or not as i cannot find any info on this anywhere.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

If the signal is too strong the tuner cannot handle the signal anymore.
Thats a problem for every box.
    Try the combinations 3db + 8db, 3db + 12db and 8db + 12db.

I've seen this problem in different parts of Dublin, it affects the newer eurovox V's & the later reds,..older reds & blues are unaffected, I found that the kryptview was also affected I'm sorry to say, I did manage to get The Box to work in these areas, I would suggest a variable attenuator I got some on ebay 0db to 20db, they save you messing about with combinations. there seems to be some high fluctuations in signal strength in some areas of Dublin & the some boxes can’t cope with it.
