just got it today. when i plug it in and switch it on, it shows a green light on the bottom right hand side. when i try to press any buttons on the remote(new batteries) , nothing happens. when i attach it to the tv with the scart i just get a blue screen. when i attach it to the pc or my laptop nothing happens with the box, stil the green light, although it occasionally flashes slowly. when i try to flash the box my pc or laptop say " file not requested. getting annoyed with it now
noticed that when i press start on the firmware, if i wait a second or two before flicking on the box, the message "the downloading is not requesting" comes up as soon as i hit the on button. if i wait 5 secs, it comes up than
tried the red button red button standby button to no avail either

    any ideas?

Make sure the box is not powered up, switching off at the back will do.Connect your Null Modem Cable.Open the loader and select Code Send.
Make sure you select the correct Comm Port.Load with the firmware and hit the Start Button.

Power up the box by turning on from the switch at the back.Wait until the Progress Bar completes and the words "Download Success" appears.

That should be it no need for the red button download procedure.

thanks for reply scouser. i have tried all this and still wont get past the "the downloading is not requested" problem.
is it normal when u switch on a kryptview for the first time for it to just have a green dot at the bottom right, i have read somewhere i should be seeing 0000?
i am considering buying a new null cable, i have tried two though in both my laptop and on my desktop.

Are you using just the null modem cable or in combination with a USB adapter?

    null cable

1 came with it, and i also tried using an old one i had got years ago with my old eurovox. both gave me the same results.

So both your laptop and desktop have a 9 pin serial port? Have you made sure that your comm port is set anywhere between port 1 to 4?

    yes they both do.
i went into device manager and it says i have com 1 and a printer port and my 02 broadband thing comes up as a port as well for some reason.
do i change something with the com1 port in properties?
thanks for your replies scouser, this is driving me crazy :-D

Try another port, i.e. 2, 3, or 4. Or if memory serves me there were a small batch of boxes that had the serial port incorrectly soldered. It was Cathal who had the problem see here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/764903

But change the Comm port first and see if that works. As checking the RS232 port on the box means opening and will void your warranty. So it is up to you or return it to your supplier.

Sorry but I am off to the leaba hope you get sorted ;)

Doesn't sound like it's the cable if you've tried two different ones already unfortunately.
