I am not ANTI-starview but I am 'ANTI-being ripped off'!!

Starview released the SV6 in February, lots of people bought them. The server went down in Ireland and not a word about it!! (other than some rumours about UPC finding it in a guys house in Dublin!!)

SV6 server is up and down in the UK, and now they bring out a new box barely 6 months after they brought out the SV6 ??

but in fairness to them Kryptview did not bring out anything for the Irish!! but I think people should weigh up their options before buying a Starview box!!

this is my reasoning also and to add, the Krypt brought out the iconnect for the older models to get them working, which says a lot for them, apart from some maintenance the last few days which the chans are now coming back, proof is in the pudding

have you got a kryptview a750 or a780? the a750 needs the iconnect to connect to the rs232 and a cable from the iconnect to the plug, the a780 plugs straight from the newtork port to the plug

I have the a780 at the moment I have an f connector and cable from the back going to a splitter for the broadband. So are you saying I dont need a connection on the rs232. If so would I need some sort of f connector to ethernet connector cable in order for the home plug to work.

Cheers for that mate, I only bought the a780 yesterday and your right there was a black sticker over the Lan connection. It was well on and it actually looked like it was part of the case of the box, thanks again.

Ive bought one of those vap11g homeplugs and am awaiting delivery however, looking at the description, do i need an external power supply to the homeplug or will it power thru the ethernet cable once its in the back of the kryptview a780?
