hey guys, i got an mp3 player and i have abunch of music that i cant seem to play it to see here go here http://www.ibead.co.kr/coding/eng/products/products_1.asp well anyway i can play some music on it but not others. i looked at some of the music with encspot and it says that the ones that i can run are lame 3.90 and the ones that i cant are lame 3.96 so do you think there is a way i can translate 96 to 90? -thanks
Does Encspot tell you if the files are Variable Bitrate(VBR) or Constant Bitrate(CBR) or maybe Average Bitrate(ABR). Because, that is the most likely problem. The 3.90 are probably CBR which all players can handle. If I'm not mistaken, I believe some players can't handle VBR or ABR. One way to test this would be to download dbPoweramp. The trial version will have mp3 encoding. Then take one of the files that doesn't work & reencode it to a CBR file & see if it works then. Reencoding is not really a great solution because, going from 1 lossy format to another lossy format loses quality in the file.
ok, thanks ill try that, in the begining i had a suspision that it was the vrb rating i was trying to change it but i did't know how so... thanks
