I have downloaded LAME(several versions)and Audacity won't recognize it. It says to "import raw." What do I have to do to make it make MP3's?

Look into your 'Audacity' (which I am not familiar with) for files with Lame in their name, something like lame_enc.dll perhaps?
Replace your file with the newer version.
    Checkout CDex 1.51
    http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
if your Audacity program does not speak 'Lame'
I have tried them all, and CDex is able to make the highest-quality MP3s possible.
(Lame 3.96 + Q=0 is quite slow but very good)
    Regards

I downloaded Cdex and Audacity still wudn't accept it. Hope to find someone that uses Audacity and was able to download the LAME and it was usable. I had it working a few days ago and then it wud only record part of the vinyl. After downloading the newest version of Audacity, it was recording the whole vinyl, but I wasn't able to convert it.

I finally figured it out. Had to change the name of the file to lame_enc. It was lame393 before. Tks for the help.
