lan connection pci card

    ok have an older packard 200mhz , and put in an ethernet card .its running windows 95.but i cant access the internet any easy way to get this to work please help

    any exclamation marks in device manager? what is the error that comes up when trying the net? are you using a router?

    May I also suggest moving to at least Windows98se or Windows ME which would help you will most Plug and Play devices. Best would be Windows XP for most users that need help with PnP devices.

    wouldn't load xp on a 200mhz as it will be a pig in loading

    well got it to work with another pci card it works fine but when i go on ie it says script error any way to cure this??? its a 200mhz with i belive only 32ram and 4gb hard drive .very old....i just want it for the kids to go on ie its running windows 95 i know ddp will help on this. another thing i cant reset home page could i put xp on this old pc ??????? or will it take long to boot up and i dont think it has enough ram

    Too small a HDD to really upgrade to newer OS and have it be really functional, XP I mean.

    @ ScubaBud i have a 12gb lying around heres one more have a xp disk with service pack 2 on it i have it installed on my gateway if i put 12gb hard drive in will it leave me put the same code in ????

    not enough ram for xp besides being too slow. what internet explorer version are you using?
