Did some tinkering around and I realized a couple things. Basically the battery fully charges, only something in my hardware doesn't recognize it's higher max-charge. Booting between windows XP and Ubuntu I see the problem affects them both the same. However I see no BIOS type options to mess with this sort of thing.

The annoying part is my laptop won't boot/come out of standby if it thinks the battery is low. That pisses me off, who cares if the battery dies in the middle of a clean boot. So my usability of the machine is still decent, but I can't shut it off after the battery in reality is lower than half-charged.

Is there some sort of force-start I can enable?
