Anyone know if it matters weather you use +R or -R and if you can copy from one to the other or not. I have -R DVD on my Mini DVD camcorder. I am using +R to burn then to. The instructions on my camcorder say something about not mixing them. Anyone know if it is true and why. I did the ASPI update and was able to burned a movie with no problems. But when I tried to burn one I made with Sonic MY-DVD it freeze up when I try to play it. I edit and view it on the laptop fine and it says burn complete and good but freeze up when DVD is played. Is it the sonic program, going from - to + or ??? any one have any ideas?

I convinced HP to send me a new burner "TSST CORP CD/DVDW TS-L532M" (Same type), I installed it and my problems went away. I have burned several home and rented movies and all work great.

@CrewDawg2 - I have found my success to not be 100%. The main thing I have to do to get a complete burn that works is burn at the slowest speed (X2.4) no matter what brand media I use (including HP). Can you tell me who you talked to at HP or what you had to do to get the replacement? I bought my laptop at CompUSA. Did you have to go through a lot of talk with someone in India to get satisfaction??

I was editing and trying to burn some vacation videos using NERO and it gave me and error code with a file I could save. The file explained the error (in computer lingo) so I kept e-mailing it with a list of problems I was having and finally got some one that seamed to know a little about what they were doing. They agreed that the drive was bad and arranged for me to get a replacement. At first I started replying to the original message and that got frustrating so I started sending a new message/complaint each time and finally got through. As far as phone in support, after the second phone call I stayed off the phone I do not have the patience to talk to tech support on the phone. Can’t understand them most of the time and I end up hanging up. E-mail was slower than talking to a person but less stressful. Good luck!
