    Hey,

recently I got my laptop back from Dell. They had to replace the motherboard and video card because it got fried I beleive. So when I got it back, my dad replaced my old HD with a bigger 160. Tried installing the OS and at some point the installation would freeze. If I restared it would finish install and everything would seem ok, but after installing some things and I started to do stuff. It would freeze randomly when I'm doing stuff. (usually when its under a semi heavy load)

I was thinking its a hardware issue since, it freezes even in a fresh install, but it always cant finish installing this one thing called "Base System" comething. It pops up and asks me to install it from a disk. I tried using both the reinstall disk and driver disk I got from Dell. I will try just straight from the internet soon as I can, if it doesnt freeze. Thinking maybe this has something to do with it too. Any ideas or suggestions wouldbe greatly appreciated.

it sounds kind of like they forgot to plug one of your fans back in and it is over heating. You could check yourself if you're brave or call up Dell.
