Can anyone please help me with a problem with my ip address? I have a pc connected to a router via ethernet cable and i my kids have 2 wireless laptops but one of the laptops keeps stealing my pc's ip address and changing my pc's address. I have to keep reassigning my nintendo to my pc because of this but have no idea what is causing this to happen. It is only one of the laptops that keeps taking my ip and it is happening roughly every couple of weeks. If anyone can give any advice that would be great, thanks.

One approach (requires an understanding of how to configure your router and PC IP addresses)

    Example

Change the router's DHCP range to something like "192.168.1.100-199)

Configure the PC's in question to an address within the subnet but OUTSIDE the DHCP range (ex. 192.168.1.95 or 192.168.1.201)
