I just got my new laptop in today and wanted to save a few parts from my old broken one , maybe even make some money$. I did a little googlin and found another post on here but was from like 3 years ago. Im not sure want to start on this tho so i figured ill post some pics and find out where to start. my idea (converter cord) (even if i have to build it..) my screen
So you want to use your old screen instead of the laptop one? Simple, just plug the VGA cord from the old screen into the matching port on your laptop, and thats it.
i think it is a lot more involved then just plug & play. you'll need an interface card between the screen & the laptop. did you go thru that entire thread?
OOOOh, I thought you meant... nevermind. OK, I get you now. Hmm, I'm not really even sure if they make a converter for a ribbon cable to VGA... Maybe sammorriss can help/
yeah , lol , thx anyways , but basically thats what i wanna do , as simple as possible , i know it has supposedly been done before , but it was from like three years ago so i know theres got to be a better way to do it now . maybe with some kind of small converter chip home-made with the two input and output cord if seems plausible if possible. im new to afterdawn and know its been around for a long time so just lookin for some tips on this
