i have a dell laptop, and when i plug my ethernet cable in, it still says 'network cable unplugged'.

when i put the cable in it snapped in and everything. my router didn't even recognize it.

i went to my device manager and there were no errors with the pci card. it wouldn't even let me do an update because it said the drivers were already good

so is there something wrong with the pci card that windows xp wouldn't recognize?

try another network cable & put cable in different spot in router.
