I am trying to help a friend fix his Dell Inspiron 5100. At first when you turn it on, nothing comes up on the screen and 3 seconds later it just powers off. I reseated the battery and powered it on again, 3 secs later, it automatically powers off. Same situation even if it is plugged in via ac adapater. Right now it is powered off and i see the battery light blinking green while plugged in. My first time in this situation. Could it be some kind of hardware failure somewhere?
It doesn't boot at all. It just powers on and xx seconds later...just powers off. Nothing on the screen.
