Hey, I'm having trouble with my laptop its a Packard Bell easynote K5285. The problem is it wont turn on, was working fine one night then next day nothing. The Laptops was almost never used as a laptop and constantly pluged into the mains so i figure maybe the batterys dead. but that could be an expensive thoery so i thought id ask in here. cheers
the battery cant be dead if its never used.when you plug it into the mains you are not using the battery unless its plugged into the back. if it ran on batteries you would know once u took out the ac adapter and it was still running.
I thought maybe it might have to go thru the battery to run or something. i remember once we had a power cut and the lap top wouldnt run without mains either. Another thing when i plug the mains in now i get an orange light which i think means the battery is low but charging, left it in last night woke up this morning and it was green but still wouldnt start. I unplugged the mains then plugged it in again and it was back to orange, weird.
take the battery out and just run it form the mains.if it doesnt work go to your local computer shop and see what they can do.
