I am on my psp so bare with me. My laptop got killed by one of those malware scanners that act you need your pc scanned. I usualy just turn my comp off by pressing the off switch to not worry of viruses and used to work till I downloaded Avast when I had an anonying pop up virus that not even Microsoft One Care could kill. With that useless virus protection ran out its subcription I had gotten Avast from this site. But back to the current Feb 13 virus. this thing disabled Avast. sorry for double post.

moved to correct forum as not a pc hardware issue. try to do a system restore thru safemode\administrator & if that fails then save your data onto flash drives or whatever in safemode.

First do a chkdsk c: /f on your computer or a scandisk with the boxes to fix errors checked.

Maybe when you did the "hard" shutdown it corrupted your window files. Usually those type of sites want you to buy there "fix", so they won't completely destroy your computer at least they let you have access to the internet.

Once you get the computer to bootup, see if the free avira antivirus will install and clean your system.
