I have a pentium 3 IBM laptop, my sister was using it and she says that it has stopped working. When I booted the system it stops where the logo is displayed and reboots. Then shows booting options like Safe mode, Start windows normally, in comand prompt or in network. I tried F8 to have booting options but if still does not work. This is killing me. Can someone tell me what to do, oh and i have to have the laptop constantly connected to the power supply.
If you have the windows xp installation cd, try running the checkdisk/f c: from the command prompt. If the computer was improperly shutdown, it might have cause some file corruption that the checkdisk/f command can usually fix. If that doesn't work you might want to try the free "testdisk" program to check for boot sector corruption.
