    Hello,

Have a HP Compaq nx9000 laptop that turns off when you turn it on it's side. First found the trouble when it was throwing errors when installing windows and wouldn't complete the installation process. Anyway it did in the end without doing anything to it, just tried it on a different day adn it worked.

When you turn it 90 degrees on either side the laptop just switches off dead. Does the same thing with the battery in or not. When it does it when the battery is out you have to take the power cord out then put it back in to get it to switch on again.

    Any ideas?
