Latest Kryptview Firmware 120908

The latest firmware for the Kryptview has been released today. It can be found in Eamos at the bottom of my post.

Please post comments here in relation to how you find it. My Kryptview has been donated to a good cause, (mother in law), so I dont visit it that often So I haven't had a chance to trial it.

Looking to see how it works out for all, Mickah should be happy


Kryptview 12092008

Please note this is a public beta release.

As always, lots of changes have been made - lots of features therefore may have still have minor issues.
A follow up release will take care of these as they arise.

Changes:
-------

- EPG: A bug that made EPG Information disappear after small time period has been fixed.
- EPG: Daily / Weekly EPG split.
- EPG: Daily / Now & Next show current channel in the background.
- EPG: Remote Buttons changed on EPG:
- Red to set reminder.
- Blue to cancel reminder.
- Green for Weekly EPG on Now/Next.
- Yellow for Daily EPG on Now/Next (Less information but current channel remains in background).
- OK to change to the selected channel on Now/Next.
- EPG: Extended event information sometimes did not fit inside window and would lose characters on
the end of ach line.

- InfoBar: Buggy predictive-channel-name removed.
This will be reimplemented correctly in the next release.
- InfoBar: Shows event time information
- Now Event: shows time elapsed and time remaining in minutes.
- Next Event: shows total event length in minutes.

- Channel List: Typing in a channel number directly on the channel list now works as expected.

- Subtitles: Bug fix for channels with multi language subtitles (such as Zee TV in some areas).
These would randomly show a page of subtitle from the wrong language.

- Teletext: Pages can now be made transparent by pressing WHITE. Good for page 888 subtitles.

- Tuner: Signal Deviation option added in System Settings -> Other Settings

This allows you to auto adjust the offset of all TP's by a selectable value.
Only use this if you seem to miss some TP's or very bad breakup.
Try small adjustments such as -1 or +1 first.

- A few menu graphical glitches fixed.

- A lot of internal memory corruption bugs fixed.

- Screen Aspect Ratio: Blue button change now prints the name of the mode in top right corner.

- Manual Key Entry: Tune to channel 6001 by directly typing it in on the remote.
Actually this has always been there.

- A lot of other minor issues we probably forgot to mention.

Notes:

There are two files in this release:

Kryptview_12092008_PvrEPG - This is for use in most of the UK mainland and provided 7 Day EPG

Kryptview_12092008_StdEPG - This is for use on Irish providers and also parts the UK where
the above file does not give EPG.

There are still some known issues with the firmware, that is why it is still classed as BETA.

A new update is expected in about 2 weeks to fix a few known bugs (we promise this won't be months again)
