Longhorn no longer exist as such.... It is now Vista and it will be shipped to certified beta testers.. in mid-september! The first Beta #1... will be followed by the usual 2... then 3.. or more RPC's before it hits the sales some time next spring , I would guess.

Thanks for providing that update, I hadn't kept up to date with it in a while

Vista huh, I'll read the link you gave but I hope they're not gonna stick with the name Vista. Sounds like the name of a hotel at every vacation spot around the world.

    Thanks again Jeanc1

Uniique1 --- I will be receiving the Vista Beta #1 when it comes out.... after looking at it and doing the testing, ( time permitting of course ) I will possibly post a preliminary assessment of my findings on it !
As usual W/we are told it is a major improvement on XP with better security , better graphics and easier almalgamation of module creations for software engineering !! This is what our staff here are constantly looking for in O/S -- so W/we have our fingers crossed this is so with Vista !

    Regards !

It's been available to msdn subscribers for a while now, I had a quick go, but I'm going to reserver judgement until I've seen more of it.

It seems like a prettied-up version of Xp to me, but like I said, it was only a quick go and is only Beta 1 :)
