I'm Having a problem with my TFT LCD monitor(Mitac LC552) the monitor was working fine before but all of a sudden the screen started flashing out of nowhere. It witches on as soon as the power is plugged in an the desktop image comes on for like half a second then goes black again. Ive tried unplugging it from the pc but as soon as it is plugged into the power supply it starts flashing again does anyone know how to fix this? Any advise is much appreciated.
I don't think the button is stuck but ill check it out. I haven't got a multimeter but I don't thing its low voltage because the power supply was working before. It's strange because it just started with this problem midway through typing a document. Do you think my power supply copped out on me from nowhere? can that happen?
Just checked and the buttons are not to blame. I even tried disconnecting the circuitboard attached to them but still nothing This screen is really getting me down, going off like that damn you mitac!!!
As it just so happens the family's 19" LG just did the same. I have it on good authority that the backlight circuitry has given up. This hopefully shouldn't be a costly repair. Try the torch (flashlight) trick. With power on to the screen, shine a torch at an angle (room needs to be fairly dark) and see if there are any images at all. Cheers.
Made some progress i tried something thats...well...kinda stupid but it worked. I plugged in my laptop's power supply its a 19V - 3.25A adapter and presto its working. The monitor its self says it requires 12V - 3.8A so I'm going to have to try getting the correct type of adapter (unless its all hunky-dory that i use the wrong one?). In any case does anyone know where i can get such a specific adapter?
