at work i was given an lcd monitor that supposedly was busted. i was told that the monitor was left on occasionally over the weekend, and one of these occassions it didn't want to work anyore. they got a replacement from emachines and were told to chuck the old one. they gave it to me, and now i'm wondering if it's fixable or is there any other use for it. i plugged it in and there is no response from it what so ever. the led on the power supply does come on, but the monitor itself won't power on. please advise. thanks ahead of time for any and all help.

maybe its the wires comming from the power supply might have been dissabled, because my cousin had a problem with it, but im not sure if the light went on or not, all i know was that the power cord supply was busted but he got a replacement, so my best bet would be that the power supply went bad.

take it to a repair place to get an estimate on how much it would cost to fix. it could be a broken wire in the vga cable controlling the vertical or horizontal sync or a component in the monitor itself. but cost you some money as long as cheaper than a new lcd monitor.

so a pretty good general concensus is that it's worth checking out at the very least... right?

yes & if 17" or above than might be worth fixing but see if can find a compareable monitor for price limit on fixing the non-working 1
