i am looking for software that will allow me to burn an audio disc and leave the session open without closing or finalizing the disc automatically.
adaptec easy cd creator 4 had this feature but that software no longer exists and when it did it wasnt' compatible with windows xp.
    any suggestions? Thanks.

most new softwares don't offer that function for audio CDs anymore because most standard CD players won't be able to read unfinalized discs. Only CDR decks and computer drives will recognize them. Besides, CDs are so cheap these days you can always burn another one if you with to add on to the original

i know - i intend to finalize it eventually but not all in one sitting - with easy cd creator 4 i would burn some mp3s (leaving the session open) and then take the disc out and put it in my stereo to burn some records and then put it back in the computer and burn some more mp3s and so on and then finalize it and the disc would play fine in any cd player.

okay, well I don't use easy CD creator, but nero allows you to burn a disc unfinalized, so give nero a try. its a much better burning app than roxio anyways...

yup, when you go to burn on the tab that selects writing speed and all that, there's a button you can uncheck that says finalize
