Ight Man, I got a situation for you, You prolly like o great thekid screwed his iPod up and needs help fixing it. You lucked out lol, Well kinda becuase you might not have even helped me.. Anyways.. I was reading threw the Whole change the picture or bitmap pictures.. And I found some really good themes I wanted for my pod...Like This Dice Theme,And Pirate ones, And I was also intrested in the one you had on the tutorial below it.. If you can hook me up with it some how.. Lol anyways I found the themes I wanted and I extracted them into a new folder and all.. But then it came down to where you said I could Load All.. Well I loaded all but like I was viewing the Do not Disconnect red thingy at the time of the "Load All" and it changed to like a gray square I was like that isn't right.. Well come to find out the Fice Theme consits of 327 I think bitmaps and I need a 307,I think Like I'm not sure what kind of pod I have.. I know I have a colored one that can play movies and music videos and photos on it. Just don't know if it's a 4th Gen,5 Gen. Or wat ever generation or whatever firmware,or any of that i'm not sure on any of it.. I just am thinking I need 307..I haven't restored my ipod with the updater yet and I tried and tried and tried to figure out how to get the right pics from the theme to the wizard the same,Even tried doing it manually just not knowing anything like what icon on the pod does what..And like how to match them perfectly with out changing the dementions. I am in need of serious help.. Like I am asking you nicely for one day, like possibly today witch is friday to sit down and walk me threw this..Your Tutorial is detail just I'm not good with all the firmware and updating stuff and all this stuff above. Please sit down with me one day and help me. It don't matter how..I don't care just wanted a fully customized ipod video 30 gb of my own. And Needin some help on it. Can't stress how much this would mean to me if you helped me out so I don't screw anything up. Becuase I've tried and it's hard to figure it out when you don't even know what firmware means and all this other computer talk is lol.. So please man help me if you can contact me Or I will you.. You have a fifth generation iPod. You can't directly take a theme from another iPod and port it to the 5th generation because the number corresponding to the picture does not always line up, and that will mess your iPod up pretty bad. Just make sure you find a 5th generation iPod theme and follow Lethal's guide and you shouldn't have any problems.

alright DarkJello I found this Red Tribal Theme on that thing, And it was Under the Catogory of "Themes for the 5G (Video) iPod" Now what do I do, I still ain't sure if it's for my ipod, Like I said the updater I have it the one he said to have ecuase it's most stable and it's the 2005-11-17 one. And so if I need to get a diffrent updater then tell me to or whatever. And then then my software version is 1.0 and it says's it's up to date. It jsut said I need to update it today so I did, And I use to have 1.1 not sure up I should role Back to 1.1 or what. but let me know if I have everything correct and then what I do next. I am needing some help on what version i have and what version of theme I need. Thankx Get back at me..
It's for the 2006-1-10 updater, I don't remember what version that is, I think its 1.1. So all you have to do is apply it to that firmware with iPod Wizard and you should be on your way. Anything else?

Like are you saying i'm going to need to get that updater.. becuase if I am going to have too I will have to have you get me the link becuase I won't know where to find it. I ain't quit sure what you ment by that. But yeah tell me how to add the red tribal thingy on my ipod wizard, Like when I do it I only have 307 ones and it shows theres 328 bitmaps. So help me out and what that means if I have 307 bitmaps on my pod and theres 328 in the theme still. Because I'm stil not sure if i'm doing somthing right.
O isssssshhhhh,I just loaded it into ipod wizard and writed it to the updater and I did it and it was all messed up lil dots where they arn't suppose to be and bells where they arn't suppose to be. I restored it and it's back to normal.. I am so lost, I tried and failed, I need some help like my firmware like I don't know I don't know how to make it so the theme fits in the right place.. like every thing was all messed up. Red next buttons where at the top of the main menu.. I know I did it wrong don't know where I'm going wrong at, i think I have like a diffrent ipod. Like it's newer or somthing older. the thing is, is it has video(like i can put movies and music videos) and then i can put photos on it.. Plus I can put music on it.. thing is why cna't it just be like Lethal_B's an go on fine.. Please help, I want to do it again just want it right.. I am asking for anyone that has done this before that has the vidoe iPod then please add me on msn so I can get step by step instructions starting from what part of the theme do I download.. becuase every time I download a theme. always is wrong. Like I go the 5th Generation Video catogory and then I download the Red Tribal Becuase thats all I want on here. And It won't work. Like heres what I do I go into iPW and then I go to updater I find the updater thats is 2005-11-17 I or somthing like that the one Lethal B says to download and I do that hten I go to the other one the firmware and I click 5 generation 13.6.0 I think thats the numbers anyways I then click load and I load it it say downloading somthing then strings then it's done then down in the index it says theres like 307 bitmaps and the theme has like 328 and then I get lost. I tried it once and it screwed the thing up so I restored it to factory settings then I started all over. And I want to get it right one of these times. So anyone TELL ME WHAT I"M DOING WRONG. It's going wrong because as I said the Red Tribal theme is for the 1.1 updater, which is from 2006-1-10. So if you apply the theme to that firmware it should work out just fine. It's pretty late on the East Coast so I'm going to be going, but tommorow if you still can't figure it out I'll try applying the theme to the firmware to see how it works for me.

why are you changing firmware? There is no need to change firmware when applying themes.. especially not to version 1.1, which is, as we all know, littered with bugs regarding the backlight & video playback. [bold]Stick with v1.0 (2005-11-17) all the way if you have a 5th gen iPod.[/bold] If you come accross a theme which is made for the v1.1 or v1.1.1 firmware, then just use the theme conversion program found here http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=6635

At least you tried thats all that matters, thankx Lethal But one thing, I am trying to apply the Red Tribal theme for a video ipod and having trouble matching bitmaps in IPW(Ipod Wizard) needin some help,I already messed the thing up once had to restore it and took prolly 4 hours jsut to get it all back together plus all them music videos and movies.Anyways can you help me out on this one,I can feel it I'm so close just am missing somthing.
