    Virtual Game Maker DS 0.5 ( http://perso.orange.fr/Globoeil/VGMDS/VGMDS.htm )

I have no programming knowledge, none at all!
Can someone tell me how i would go about making a game like the one below!

If i get the source if a game, can i just change the images but leave the actions the same or does it not work like that?

I've never done any of that, but I know whoever has done it probably edited the original rom/iso/whatever of the game they wanted to edit. If you were to edit a game, that one looks like Yoshi's Island (just so you know which game).

if you get the source of the game you can pretty much do anything you want to it..

beware that if you don't have ANY knowledge in programming, i HIGHLY doubt you'll be able to do it. Your best bet is to send the original programmer a few bucks and ask him to replace the images for you.

To program for the DS you will need DevKitPro, this website should provide all the information you need to program for the DS.

Good luck with this, everyone starts somewhere so keep at it. I've had similar aspirations but never actually did anything about it. Post results if you make something you want to share.

right now i have no idea what i am doing!
I see Raw files but dont know what to do with them.
I dont get how text is meant to make an image, where the hell are the sprites kept! and all the background things.. but i shall continue to read around it

I would be very interested in trying it out, but I also do not have any programming skills. I like to photoshop, so maybe I could help with a background for a 2D side scroller or something old school like that. Photoshop might not be the right program, but at least we can get some ideas rolling. Maybe a Contra/Metal Slug style game or a beat 'em up game like River City Ransom. I'm going to look over the devkitpro stuff but that will be when I find time. =/

I want to try making a pretty simple DS game sometime, the only thing I can program in is Java, HTML and a little C++. I might try it during summer.

I think all you need is C++ so you should be good to go, or at least have some kind of idea.
