    Hi guys

I can use my PC to backup my dvd collection, but can't copy my video files to a blank dvd on the drive???

Pentium 4, 2.8, msi mb, win xp m/cntr, 128mb grfx, lg 12x dual layer dvd burner

My PC thinks this is a cd rom drive...

    Upgraded mb and grfx card
2nd hand, but good msi mb
Cd burner and dvd burner on one ide 1, dvd was primary, cdrw as slave

When i go to my computer, right click on the burner drv (E), say cdrom and file system as "raw"

    Any ideas???
PS The drive worked perfect b4 upgrade, but, still think is fine, and the blame elsewhere

    Cheers

    hi

what type files are the video files? you cant copy, also what do you want to do with these files?

did you load all drivers for via / sound / codecs etc after upgrading?

did you change jumpers for the drives or are they still the same as before?

Mine will say that if I have a blank in the drive.

What program are you using to burn?

I loaded the latest firmware for the LG drive
I am not sure if the jumpers were moved, a friend did it
I have tried both avi and mpeg, to no avail...

But, I can drag a "less than cd" size file on, and burn onto a cd
But, try it with a larger movie file, and it gives me an error

For the program, I am using Nero Startsmart
I have also tried to paste the video file onto the drive in my computer, then "write these files to disc"

I have a dvd player that reads and plays clips like that, on our tv

    Soooooo frustrating
