I start this new post cause we all know that we can make a backup of a DVD-9 game (I'm talking of the famous Xenosaga here ). The problem is that apparently only Kalisto was able to did it. Now for us if we work together I think we can to write a guide for this...don't forget it's certainly the future of the PS2 game. What I know : 1) Making a 1:1 image of Xenosage will give us an image over the 4.7Gb that we cannot burn. 2) Reading it into a PC is under the 4.7Gb but don't work. 3) Reading it under ISO Buster will give me just a little under 4.7Gb. 4) I've read that it's suppose to be around 6 Gb. 5) You will need to correct the LBA tables. What I need to know : 1) What kind of software will build an image of PS2 (like the GDFimage will do for XBOX). 2) How can we get (read) the extra 2 Gb that I can't see in ISO Buster. 3) How can I Identify those movie that we would downsize. 4) What are the settings in the burning software to burn a DVD-R perfectly (DAO,TAO, mode, block, etc..) Anyone that know something in that topic will help
the game should be around 7.99 gb that what i got with dvd decrypter and the movie files should be pss files. i have been wanting to work on this but my computer is i storage and i use my fathers to get online for now
Ok...I've got under the 4.7 Gb barrier which ever way I try....where can ou see those PSS file (I've read 2 ppls talking about them)....cannot read that....I would guess they are hidden in some ways...Do you read that with special software or hardware ?
i don't understand because i made an image with Alcohol 120% and it's a MDF/MDS file of 7.98 GB and i tried everything to see the movie file but i can because none of the software can read that format, they only read the IFO, VBO ot TS so i don't either we should try to help each other here.
Yes if you make an image with whichever software it will go around 8 Gb. I opened this image with ISO buster and what I got is those files : System.cnf Xenosaga.00 Xenosaga.01 Xenosaga.02 Xenosaga.10 Xenosaga.11 Xenosaga.12 Xenosaga.13 Slus_204.69 OV01.OVL OV02.OVL OV10.OVL OV11.OVL OV12.OVL and a directory IOP that contain some *.IRK files not really big (under 200kb). The big files are Xenosaga.01, Xenosaga.11, Xenosaga.12 which are aroung 1 Gb each. I extracted everything I could under ISObuster to my hard drive and tried also to make an ISO image of everything running CDGEN PS2. Whitout success....I'm thinking that I need to correct the LBA tables, but i'm a dummie to it...lol
hey, you are right i did it to and i get to same files, but now the big question is how to find the video file and to downsize them that is the big question. i wondering how kalisto did to down size them. because the best program DVD Shrink only read and reconize the .IFO files, so i don't know guys, you better start together and find a way.
THERE IS A PROGRAM OUT THERE CALLED PSSPLEX THAT DOWNSAMPLES PSS FILES. BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THE FILES MAY NOT BE PSS THEY MAY BE A NOTHER FORMAT I WILL HAVE TO GET MY COMPUTER OUT OF STORAGE AND START WORKING ON THIS
yeah caser, i know i already try that one, and it doesn't work because there is no pss files, maybe i don't know how to use it but for myself i'm sure that it's doesn't work with that, we have to find a program who can read those file, if any of u can ask kalisto how did he do that.
1st question : What i did extracted under ISO buster is 3.96 Gb...so for now I don't need to find any PSS file to downsize...I would just like to correct the LBA table in order to make boot this extracted stuff.... 2nd question : someone mention in another forum that the PSS are hidden (probably on the 2nd layer....any of you have seen/extracted one from Xenosaga ?
if what you got with iso buster is 3.96gb then it is still not seeing the hidden files and we need to find something that can see them you may want to look at some other sits and look throw there threads.
alright guys i may have found something out first i made an image of it using nero onto my harddrive then i opened up the image file using ultraiso and it showed me some new files named Xenosaga.21 to Xenosaga.24 so i extracted Xenosaga.21 to my harddrive and renamed it Xenosaga.pss then i used pssplex and surley it was a video file i tried it with the other files i discovered but only the .21 file contained video oh and the new files i had discovered were each 1 gig in size so now we have to find out what these files are or how to compress them
got this from another site I've done the rip of this game without any downsample 3 DVD-r : I explain the first 2 DVD-r, the first is just tested, the second are in testing... the third will be very easy. 1- Make an ISO image (I use Prassi P. DVD) 2- Extract all files from the ISO using a program called UltraISO or similar. 3- this is the DVD9 check (from PSOWNZ) inside ORG_IOPRP24D.IMG : 1E790: 10 00 1E792: 40 43 1E793: 14 24 1E794: 02 01 1E796: 02 01 1E7A2: 00 41 1E7A3: 00 AE 1E7A4: 05 0B 1E7A6: 40 60 1E7A7: 18 14 1E7A8: 00 02 1E7AA: 00 02 1E7AB: 00 24 1E934: 2B 01 1E935: 18 00 1E937: 00 24 21F5E: C0 00 4- For DVD1: 4.1- split Xenosaga.24 in two parts using master splitter or similar . the first part in uneusefull, The second part must be 217.702.400 byte. In this way you have only the end of Xenosaga.24 4.2- Rename Xenosaga.24 (of 217.702.400 byte) in Xenosaga.21. 4.3- Replace Xenosaga.22, Xenosaga.23, Xenosaga.24 with dummy files 4.4- open with an Hex editor the file Xenosaga.20: 3CF put 03 3D0 put 00 3D1 4.4- open with an Hex editor the file Xenosaga.20: /*for prologue.pss: 3CF put 03 3D0 put 00 3D1 put 00 /*for 10OP.pss 3DF put FC 3E0 put CD 3E1 put 00 /*for SCE010OP.evt B04 put 3D B05 put 9F B06 put 01 so you have redirect three files. 4.5- burn the ISO using CD-DVDg1.5. 5.0- for DVD2: replace all files using ultraISO 5.1- Replace XENOSAGA.24 and XENOSAGA.12 dummy files. 5.2- split XENOSAGA.11 in parts of 20 mega , take the first one and delete the others 5.3- split XENOSAGA.13 and keep the last part, must be 8.531.968 byte 5.4- join the first part of XENOSAGA.11 (20 mega) and The last part of XENOSAGA.13 (8 mega) and rename in in XENOSAGA.11 replace the original XENOSAGA.13 with a dummy file 5.5- open XENOSAGA.10 with an Hex editor and modify the LBA of this five files: the LBA are the first three bytes after the name of the file: you must put this vales: SCE02043.evt 04 28 00 s290040.vds 2B 28 00 SCE02047.evt 6F 29 00 SCE02047.fpk 79 29 00 SCE02047.arc AC 29 00 s290042.vds 2C 2A 00 5.6 using CD-DVDg1.5 burn the iso. DVD1 -> DVD2 Before Shipping from Miltia Star System
did u try on your PS2, how does the ps2 reconise that you have to change cd, i read that in another forum that you can't split the game because the ps2 wouldn,t reconize? so i don't know ok the best way to do it it's to split when the game stop sometime and ask u to save like in ff7 to change cd, if u tell me like that it may be good, but just to split and cut the movie scene i don't think it would work, so let me know if u did that way or in another way that the ps2 reconize the dvd chngement
