I just picked up this burner and it burned the first couple of DVDs great, then all of a sudden poof it just stops working, every once in a while it will burn one but 99% of the time I get a write error almost immediately after starting the process. I have tried everything I have seen suggested and that I know of to try so hoping someone else has an idea. It is hooked up alone as the primary drive on the 2nd IDE channel. Jumper settings are correct. DMA is turned on. I have tried burning multiple types of files on multiple discs off of multiple drives and all the same. It has no problem reading cd's or burning cd's. Below is my latest log file from Nero. I have also tried other programs as to eliminate it being a Nero issue. Also tried uninstalling and running a cleaner and reinstalling just in case. Burning mainly onto Verbatims so not cheap media either. Have ruled out bad memory, bad PSU, bad HD etc. I have tried removing the drive and having windows reinstall it, removing the IDE controller and letting windows reinstall that. Most of the time it doesnt even read that there is a blank disc in the drive. I would figure maybe this drive doesnt like verbatim's but like I said first 5 or so burns went off without a hitch. I am to the point of calling it a bad drive and hoping I can find the receipt somewhere :(. My first LG product is not giving me a good impression on their hardware so far :( I am open to any other ideas as I am at a loss as to what the problem could be. Posted is a log file from Nero as well:

I have tried everything that I can possibly come up with other than a fresh reinstall of my OS entirely, which I really doubt will help any, but it needs it anyways and Im bored so taht will be the final try and then I will be sending this drive back as defective.

Well, turns out it was nothing I could fix, just a bad drive. Got it replaced and new one seems to be working just fine, although the last one was fine for the first few burns then went poof so we will see if this one holds up.
