LG 9923P DVD Dvix Player -- Problems with subtitle

    I have a LG DVD player which the manual says it can play subtitles in .sub .srt and .smi format. But I am not able to get it work, when
    I play the .avi file, the DISPLAY shows SUBTITLE OFF.
    Anyone able to help ?

    I have the same probnlem winth my dvd. When I want to see a movie from the dvd, the windows media player 10 doesn't show the subtilities. I try to change my video codecs and I notice that (whitwout the video codecs)when I play the movie the player shows the subtitles but I hard only the background and nothing else. Please help me too. :)
